Cintas sees growing demand for bundled offerings

Businesses are increasingly looking to consolidate workplace purchasing with fewer suppliers, helping to drive growth at US workwear and facility services provider Cintas.

Speaking as it reported record fourth-quarter and full-year results, company executives noted that customers were expanding existing relationships beyond uniforms into a broader range of workplace products and services, allowing them to simplify procurement and focus on their core operations.

COO Jim Rozakis described how a long-standing automotive retail customer had broadened its relationship with the company after identifying opportunities to reduce the administrative burden on local managers. The customer now sources hygiene supplies, cleaning chemicals and PPE from Cintas in addition to its uniform program, replacing multiple suppliers with a single workplace services partner.

According to Rozakis, organizations are seeking partners that can manage image, safety, cleanliness and compliance requirements, particularly against an uncertain macroeconomic backdrop. He added that customers across healthcare, hospitality, education and state and local government continued to make significant contributions to Cintas’ top line improvement.

Management said all four of the company’s key growth drivers remained healthy, with new business wins, record customer retention, continued cross-selling and pricing broadly in line with historical levels. Around two-thirds of new customers had previously managed workplace services themselves before outsourcing to Cintas.

The company also highlighted the resilience of its supply chain, describing it as a competitive advantage. Management said a globally diversified sourcing strategy, technology investments and operational improvements had helped to maintain product availability and control costs despite ongoing market volatility. While fuel remained the main inflationary pressure, pricing has largely returned to historic norms and operational efficiencies continue to support margin expansion.

Commenting on the wider economic environment, CEO Todd Schneider said uncertainty had become a permanent feature of the market, but argued this was encouraging more organizations to outsource non-core activities and work with trusted service providers. He added that Cintas continued to see significant growth opportunities given the relatively low penetration of its addressable market.

For the fourth quarter ended May 31, 2026, revenue rose 8.9% to a record $2.91 billion, with organic growth of 8.4%. Full-year sales also increased 8.9% to $11.26 billion, while operating margin reached an all-time high of 23.1%.

Looking ahead, Cintas expects fiscal 2027 revenue of $12.1–$12.25 billion, excluding any contribution from its proposed acquisition of rival UniFirst. This deal is currently being investigated by the Federal Trade Commission, but both parties remain confident it will close towards the end of 2026.
